What started as the creation of a simple camping trailer has evolved into a movement, built around the purpose of making exploration limitless & accessible. Each PenPod is manufactured to elevate the senses, both in and outdoors, changing how you experience the world.
MANUFACTURED IN THE UK
Every PenPod is handcrafted in the UK, combining traditional practices with modern technology. With our workshop positioned in the heart of the Ribble Valley, we are continuously inspired by the picturesque landscapes which surround us. This fuels our passion to create high performance trailers, overseen by a dedicated team of skilled engineers.
From the galvanised steel chassis to the delicate final touches, every element of the PenPod is assembled by us to meet the highest standards of British manufacturing. We never overlook quality, and you neither should you.

About Us
Meet Our Founder
Meet Ian Pennington, the founder and creator of PenPod Overland Ltd.
Ian's journey began long before PenPod was even imagined, dating back to 2015 during his travels to Australia. He stumbled across a series of off-road style camping trailers which immediately piqued his interest. Their functionality and practicality offered unlimited possibilities for wild camping, something Ian had never seen in the UK. He began to wonder how these campers would succeed in the British market.
A few years later, Ian sketched the initial design on paper to refine his ideas. He knew the trailer had to be compact, tough and practical yet also visually appealing. Thus, he gravitated towards a rugged external appearance to commend his military background.

How it All Started
Towards the end of 2019, Ian and a colleague began the production of the first two PenPods.
The pair uploaded images of these trailers onto social media, where they found out very quickly that their design was well reciprocated by the public. This immediate interest led to formal orders being placed, and PenPod as a company was born

2020
Invested into advertising and shows during COVID-19 to build brand exposure.
2021
Very busy keeping up with stock whilst attending 3-4 shows per year.
2022
Secured a factory space in Darwen to facilitate
the growing popularity of trailers.
2023
Ian begins working on PenPod full time to keep up with the incline in orders.
2024
Relocated to Clitheroe where we secured a showroom within
James Alpe Ltd.

Today, PenPod stands as a proud UK-based manufacturer, rooted in the heart of the Ribble Valley. Each day, we work to perfect every aspect of the already highly recognised design of the camping trailers. This provides us with the confidence to say that every PenPod that leaves our factory reflects our commitment to quality and comfort.
Our intention is the create a satisfied community of campers who are able to explore their own way.
